The Panamá Ambassador the United States, Jaime Aleman, gave a guest lecture at UVA on February 19th, 2010. He addressed economic development and the growth of democracy in Panamá. Click here for a UVA Today article about his visit.

2009

Dr. Stanley Heckadon-Moreno, a renowned environmental scientist in Panamá, spoke on March 23rd, 2009 at UVA about sustainable development in Panamá. Click here for information about Dr. Moreno and the STRI, and here for a UVA Today article about his visit.

Dr. Azael Saldaña gave a public lecture at UVa about tropical disease in Panamá in September of 2009.

2008

Rodrigo Tarté and Guillermo Castro, Director and Associate Director of Academics, respectively, for the City of Knowledge, journeyed to the University in February 2008 to lecture on “Sustainable Development in Panamá, Gateway to the American Tropics.” Drs. Castro and Tarté also led student-faculty workshops on the possibilities for sustainable development in Panamá.
